A Quiet Day in Arganda del Rey

Friday, 11 November, 2016:

First, a heartfelt thank you to all of the men and women who have served our country today on Veterans Day.

For us, it was a stay in town day with just a simple stroll into town together being our shared highlight.

Solid, homemade food as usual at our favorite dining spot in town.

Lamb's Blood?

I thought Passover was still months away.

Our butcher shops waste absolutely no part of any slaughtered animal it appears.

In the evening, it was back to work as we had the usual back-to-back Osos Rivas Junior and Senior practices from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Juniors' final tune up

Our Juniors play their first game of the season on the road against another team from Madrid, Los Cuervos, on Sunday at High Noon.

The Juniors looked good tonight
and were focused for the task at hand

Talk at the end of practice

I gave the Juniors my final thoughts on the mental preparation needed over the next day and a half before the Los Cuervos kickoff.

I think this group is ready.

Our Seniors had a good session as well tonight as we stressed play polish and did a lot of individual technique work.

Our inside run period was solid but the report from the 7-on-7 drill was not as bright from the offensive perspective.

Our Senior team's first game is a week from tomorrow against the Colada Camioneros. We only have three more practices to get ready for what should be a tough opener for us.
