Juniors Game, Final Senior Results and a Fabulous Dinner

We met at the stadium at 8:00 a.m. for the 30 minute drive to the home of the Lyon Gones for our 2-1 Junior team's final regular season game. A win against our crosstown rivals would secure our Juniors a spot in the playoffs.

Kickoff was scheduled for 11:00 a.m., about four hours before the Gones Senior squad played the Clermont-Ferrand Servals.

The Gones' last drive was the game winner. We had them at their own one yard line facing a Third and 13. They converted.

We had them at mid-field facing a Fourth and 11. They converted.

Eventually the Gones scored on the drive with a little over a minute left to play to win the game 18-17.

Very disappointing to say the least as our Junior season may be over.

A FEAST

Sunday night, we were invited over to the beautiful home in Lyon's Third Arrondisseement of Alain and Cathy Pfaff for dinner.

The Pfaffs were splendid hosts and we had a very enjoyable evening discussing ever so many topics around the dinner table.

Lamb was our main course and Alain made it on the BBQ to perfection. Cathy's salad, side dishes, cheeses and strawberry crêpes were equally memorable.

All of this marvelous cuisine and wonderful wine aside, their warmth and friendship were even better.
