First Day of Practice

I woke up this morning, looked out my front window and this is what I saw . . .

What a beautiful day
to practice American football!!!

I'm not going to get tired of this view am I?

The Thunerhof

Philipp Baumann escorted me this afternoon to this government building to pick up my Swiss Work Visa. They just needed some of my documents to finish the paperwork. I should be able to pick it up on Monday.

Doubt that I'll tire of this view either

Graffiti in Switzerland?

And on an innocent cow nonetheless!

Hotel Frierhof

I love European sign art.

A Goat

Trying to keep Mike Contreras and Brian FitzGerald interested in the blog.

I like old covered bridges too

Fortunately I share the Swiss' love of cheeses

The Eiger, the Mönch and the Jungfrau
as seen from the Thun Train Station

Literally, that translates to the Ogre, the Monk and the Maiden.

The Eiger has an elevation of 13,026 feet, the Mönch is a bit taller at 13,449 feet while the Jungfrau looks down on them both sitting at 13,642 feet.

Tonight was the first chance that I've had to see the Tigers practice. We were indoors due to the weather closing down many of the outdoor fields. The lack of space made throwing difficult.

Senior Tigers scrimmaging

I was very impressed by the team's level of intensity, preparation and willingness to learn during the 90 minute workout.

Defensive Coordinator Ueli Sutter and Offensive Coordinator Rudy Bohren have done a great job getting the team up to speed.

Junior Tigers at work

Not enough Juniors in attendance for a full scrimmage so Coach Stephan Pulver wisely opted for half line work.

I am greatly encouraged after tonight, good things should be in our football future.

Another practice on Saturday morning, a great opportunity to get better.

IT'S GREAT TO BE A TIGER!!!
